New Laboratory Testing for CFIDS, Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease and Mold Illness
The lab tests are a critical part of validating the results of the BIRS© screening test. Our research and data analysis has revealed that, for the individuals that had a positive BIRS© screening test result, 96.5% them had 2 or more labs out of the normal range, and 83.8% of them had 3 or more labs out of the normal range. Many patients have 5 or more labs out of the normal range. Remember that each person is 'biochemically unique' so that these are not always the same 5 labs. They do vary, so it is important to test for most of them. If cost is an issue, we can determine which labs are most likely to be abnormal and test those first.
We have included a complete list of the labs and normal reference ranges. Depending on the patient and the presenting symptoms and history, we usually order many of these. It is important to be tested at the laboratories mentioned on the sheet, so that you can be compared against other biotoxin patients. This is especially important for some of the newer tests, which as of yet, do not have reference ranges. Please realize that both primary care physician's and even specialists may not be familiar with some, or most of these labs.
